Abingdon Pottery bookends (1948)

We saw our first pair of Abingdon Scottie bookends on the "Pike's Pottery" display table at the Wee Scots convention this past June -- and then only a few weeks later spotted a pair for sale in an antique mall in Northern Virginia. They are 7" high, 4" wide and 6" deep, in beautiful condition, complete with original felted bottoms and Abingdon stickers.

Intrigued by these lovely deco Scottie heads, we found online information about Abingdon Pottery, especially their extensive cookie jar collection, but no mention of the Scottie bookends. According to other sources, however, we've heard that the Scottie bookends were only produced for one year, 1948, so they are a rare find.
